SYRACUSE, NY – As the 28th season for the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) came to a close this past weekend at the annaual awards banquet. At that time the popular 360 sprint car organization was pleased to announce the return of Lucas Oil as the tour sponsor. Once again ESS will be known as the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints.
Over the past four years, the Lucas Oil sponsorship came from their Canadian division in Mississaugua, Ontario. This year, the agreement was reached through the main headquarters in Corona, California. What stays the same is the tremendous support from one of the industry leaders in lubricants towards some of the best winged sprint car drivers from both the Northeastern United States and Canada.
“We were very fortunate to have a strong relationship with Steve Snowden who headed the Canadian division. Steve helped out so many in the Northeast and Canada not only with ESS but with dirt modifieds, small blocks, sportsman cars and many others.” said ESS President Chuck Miller. “We are just honored that main office in California has decided to support ESS once again as well as other programs in our area. We had a tremendous 2010 tour with record car counts and knowing that our tour sponsor is signed going into the 2011 we hope the support will even grow.”
With the new agreement comes a new logo which incorporates the traditional ESS blue color and slogan of “America’s Race Cars” into the famous Lucas Oil shield. The catchy logo will be seen at each and every ESS event in 2011. The ESS website also has new look in its header that is up and running with the this official release.
The new season is still months away but it’s already looking promising with the tour sponsor signing, all the top teams returning to follow the tour as well as several new teams that will become fulltime ESS travelers for 2011. Also, for the fans, the new policy of double-file restarts for next season will make all events even more thrilling.
The Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, champions Poirier, Barger and Yonge along with Hebing, Cook, Ward Jr., Parent, Wickham, Stelter, McDonald, Jones, Donath, Barney, Caron, Weigand, Cain, Sparks, Rand and so many others…for 2011 it will continue the tradition for over 28 years of excitement guaranteed!
