January 22, 2011. (Toronto, ON) Sun Peaks, British Columbia based racer Jason White and long time partner A & W Food Services of Canada will be back together again this year in the 2011 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Championship. Both parties are also very pleased to announce they are teaming up with DJK Racing and the Kawartha Speedway Group this season. This new arrangement has everyone involved anxious for the competition to begin.
The new accord will see White piloting the #21 A & W Dodge Challenger in all twelve rounds of the NASCAR Canadian Tire series. Providing the horsepower and technical support necessary for success will be defending series champion engine builder Doug Kennington and DJK Racing. The registered car owner will be Harvey “Skip” Ambrose principal of the Kawartha Speedway Group. Team manager and race day Crew Chief will be former series competitor Derek Lynch.
Combining the resources and talents of all those involved has everyone excited about the possibilities for the upcoming season, most notably the driver of the #21 A & W Dodge Challenger Jason White. “I could not be more keyed up about this season” said the energized driver. “Having somebody as bright as Derek managing the operation and working as Crew chief on race day is fantastic. He brings a lot of knowledge to the job and I know he’ll make me a better driver” added White.
The opportunity to work with Jason White Racing is also welcomed by Derek Lynch and the Kawartha Speedway Group. “I’m looking forward to working with Jason. Our involvement will take the strain of logistics off his plate, provide him with great race cars and allow him to focus on driving” said Lynch. “It’s very privilege to be associated with a great company like A & W” he added.
White, the 2008 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Rookie of the Year is equally pleased the championship winning group from 2010 at DJK Racing will be providing horsepower and technical support for the #21 A & W Dodge Challenger each weekend. “After last season we took a look at our program and realized we needed to make some changes to take the next step up” explained White. “I talked to a lot of people and different teams and knew that aligning Jason White Racing with DJK Racing was the right move. DJ and Doug Kennington will provide us with plenty of horsepower, the cars will be race ready, and you couldn’t find a more professional group to work with” he concluded.
DJ Kennington is also pleased to be involved with Jason White Racing. “Jason is a great booster for the series” he stated. “All the travel he does from BC alone shows his dedication and has helped grow the series out west. I’m glad we’re able to join forces this season” he added.
With the principals now in place the preparations for the 2011 season are already beginning. “We’re going to be busy over the next few months getting ready for the season” stated White. “The #21 A & W Dodge Challenger will be ready to hit the track for some testing prior to the start of the season. We’ll have a couple of opportunities to get out to the race track and get comfortable with each other so that we are ready to compete right from the first green flag. I just can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to the new season” he declared.
