DEWALT ® Signs Agreement with Richard Petty Motorsports to Sponsor Marcos Ambrose for 2011/2012 NASCAR Season

Richmond Hill, On. (Jan. 24, 2011) – Today, DEWALT announces its agreement with Richard Petty Motorsports to sponsor Marcos Ambrose, driver of the No. 9 Ford Fusion, for the 2011/2012 NASCAR season. The No. 9 car will brandish the DEWALT logo, which will alternate between the hood and quarter-panel during each race of the 2011/2012 Sprint Cup season.

“DEWALT is well-positioned to re-enter the sport and partner with Richard Petty Motorsports to sponsor Marcos Ambrose for the 2011/2012 season,” said Jon Howland, director of brand marketing, DEWALT. “We value the opportunity to engage with our end-users through this platform, and we feel that Richard Petty, a NASCAR Hall of Famer and seven-time NASCAR Cup champion, and his race team, will represent our brand well.”

The DEWALT brand is known within the power tool industry to be deeply connected to its end-users as a result of building relationships with contractors both on and off the jobsite. One of the brand’s inherent strengths has always been its event marketing strategy at both the local and national levels. Having a presence at the track provides a great opportunity to fuel the passions of DEWALT power tool users, distribution partners, employees and NASCAR fans.

DEWALT’s decision to partner with Richard Petty Motorsports, and re-engage within the sport of NASCAR for the 2011/2012 season, aligns with the company’s overall strategy to build brand loyalty through a robust portfolio of sponsorships with both professional and collegiate sports properties.
