Thorold, Ontario (August 22) – For the fourth time of the season – Merrittville Speedway Officials were forced to cancel its Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Program – derailing the ASCS Patriot Sprints Tour Saturday August 21st.
“With the Sprint Car teams fresh off their Friday Night visit to Ohsweken,” sympathizes (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, “with qualifying underway … it was unfortunate that what we knew was coming … finally arrived – it’s the worst time of all to have to cancel … when the pits are full of race teams and race fans are still filing in.”
Unfortunately the Pen Centre presentation of the ASCS Patriot Sprints is unable to be rescheduled in 2010.
“With what the balance of our season holds and the different tracks they have left on their schedule,” furthers Bicknell, “there is nothing that works for either of us … as an alternative however – we have come up with a fair rain check policy for both the pits and the grandstands.”
RAIN CHECK POLICY - GRANDSTANDS:
Rain checks for the grandstands can be used on the following dates:
1. Friday September 10th
2. The 2011 Sprint Car date that will be announced with the 2011 Schedule
* you may also use your ticket for any of the other 2010 remaining events, but no refunds will be given for the difference in the admission amounts – For example: If you have an adult ticket from August 21st ($17 value) and you would like to use it on September 4th when the adult ticket will be $15, the $2 will not be refunded to you.
RAIN CHECK POLICY - PITS:
Rain checks for the pits can be used on the following dates:
1. Friday September 10th or Saturday September 11th
2. The 2011 Sprint Car date that will be announced with the 2011 Schedule
* you MUST have your wristband and pink ticket to use your rain check
If you have further questions, you may email Erica Bicknell at ebicknell@cogeco.net or call the Speedway at 905-892-8266.
