Bowmanville, ON (August 22, 2010) NASCAR Canadian Tire series driver Pierre Bourque returned to the oval track racing this past Saturday night at Mosport Speedway near Bowmanville, Ontario for round number nine. And the result was a very satisfying effort for the #00 Mohawk Internet Technology Dodge team.
During practice the #00 Mohawk Internet Technology Dodge team worked to improve the cars handling and Bourque worked to learn the track. “I talked to my teammate DJ Kennington and he gave me some advice and then I tried to get up to speed as quickly as possible” said the driver. “This is a very tough track to get a handle and I didn’t know anything about it before running our first laps today”. He would learn quickly.
When the 200 lap feature event took the green flag Bourque was instantly looking to move the #00 Mohawk Internet Technology Dodge up in the field. “I learned a lot during this race” stated Bourque. “By watching and following it’s amazing how much car control you can have when you’re running right on the edge that really helped me improve” he added.
Bourque would run the #00 Mohawk Internet Technology Dodge steadily throughout the race gaining positions. “We just continued to run our race and I tried to improve with every lap” he stated. “I think we were running as high as sixth at one point and that gave our team a real boost”.
Bourque would complete the race and be scored twelfth, a very good finish for the #00 Mohawk Internet Technology Dodge team. “We weren’t even sure earlier this year that I’d even be running in this event but I’m very happy that I did” said Bourque.
After some frustration it was a great boost for the team to have such a good finish on this difficult track. “It was great for Mohawk Internet Technology to come on board and be our main sponsor for this race. I’m thrilled with how our night went and so is our entire team” said Bourque. “We also gained in the championship moving up to eleventh overall we’re very excited about next week headed to Montreal looking to get back into the top-ten overall” he added
