The Canadian Super Challenge ends this weekend at Autodrome Edelweiss and Brockville Ontario Speedway

Gatineau, QC –August 25, 2010 - The Canadian Super Challenge now heads West to for 2 nights of racing with Autodrome Edelweiss on August 27 and Brockville Ontario Speedway on August 28 also being the site of the crowning of the 2010 champion.

 

Autodrome Edelweiss will be the host of the third race event with the presentation of the Coca-Cola 100. Local drivers Stéphane Lafrance, Eric and Denis Gauvreau, Luke Whitteker and Pierre Dagenais will be in pits to defend the colors of Edelweiss against a strong field of Granby and Drummond regulars like series points leader Steve Bernard, Clement and Alan Therrien, David Hébert, Kayle Robidoux,Yan Bussière, Mario Clair and Gino Clair, Claude Brouillard, Jean Boissonneault and Martin Gagné along with several others.

 

The Brockville Ontario Speedway will then close the series with the fourth and last race with the BOB FM/730 Truckstop 100. The biggest field of cars his expected with an average of nearly 25 modifieds running regularly at the Paul Kirkland`s speed plant and adding over 20 invaders, the competition will be really strong on the track. The O'Brien brothers, Pat, Tim and Danny, will lead the way with Stéphane Lafrance, Kyle Dingwall, Bobby Herrington and several other wanting to defend the BOS territory against the Quebec delegation.

 

More than $20,000 in purse will be given at each race with the winner receiving $3,000 and each qualified drivers will leave the track with at least $350 in his pockets. A point's fund of $8,000 will also be divided between the 10 best drivers at the of the 4-race series. The champion will be $2,500 richer, second $1,500, third $1,000, fourth $750, fifth $600, sixth $500, seventh $400 and positions eight to 10, will receive $250. After the completion of the four races more than $90,000 in money will be given out to the racers.

 

Steve Bernard is currently the point`s leader after two races with 164 points, Clément Therrien comes in second with 157 points, Kayle Robidoux is third with 146 points, Claude Brouillard with 142 and Gino Clair with 140 is the current top five. Fred Gamache, David Hébert, Jean Boissonneault, Yan Bussière and Éric Gauvreau complete the top 10.

 

Each feature will count for a spot for Super DIRT Week at Syracuse. The DIRTcar rules will be in effect with the right rear tire will be a HARD for all the events.

 

A great battle is expected this weekend at Autodrome Edelweiss and Brockville Ontario Speedway for the first edition of the Canadian Super Challenge. Who will win the 2010 edition? Please place your bet.
