Cantley, PQ Sunday, August 22, 2010 Martin Bélanger Some important changes to the schedule for September, the Enduro race date have changed to Monday, September 6 and the 4-wheeler class will be dropped for the remainder of the season and the September 10th racing night have been cancelled completely.
A rule states that the Speedway cannot present any racing on Saturday and Sunday forcing the date change of the annual Enduro to Monday, September 6. The promoter asked for a temporary change to the ruling but it was refused by the city township. A total of 3 50-lap events will be presented in the 4 cylinders, 6 cylinders and 8 cylinders. Start time will be at 2pm with pit gates opening at 10am for the car registration.
Because of the lack of competitors in the last few events, the 4-wheeler races will be dropped for the remainder of the season, a revision of these races will be done during the off season and a new format will be offered to the racers for the 2011 season.
With the Enduro being changed to Monday, September 6 and several drivers that will compete elsewhere, the management of Edelweiss Speedway have decided to cancel the events of Friday, September 10. With a really low car-count expected, it was an easy decision to cancel the program.
The management would like to thank the fans, drivers and sponsors for their collaboration throughout the 2010 season.
