OHSWEKEN, ON – The eleventh round of Ohsweken Speedway’s Friday Night  Thunder hits the track this Friday, August 27.  This week’s event is  “Goodbye to Summer” presented by HRW Automotive, and features the Corr/Pak  Merchandising Sprint Cars, ESSO Thunder Stocks, ESSO Mini Stocks, and Bombers,  plus the final visit of 2010 for the Mod Lite Stars Championship Tour North, and  Blindfold Races!
Dave Dykstra extended his points lead in the  Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Car division with a fourth place finish in the  ASCS vs. Corr/Pak Challenge race.  The Port Colborne driver enjoys a  seventy point lead over Campbellville's Kevin Job heading into this week's  event.  Kyle Moffit of South Dayton, NY is third in the standings, followed  by Alton's Keith Dempster, and Ohsweken driver Glenn Styres.  Jamie Turner  of Caistor Centre leads the Rookie of the Year standings and now sits tenth  overall.  Friday night’s event is also a qualifier for Corr/Pak  Merchandising drivers for the Village Pizza Ohsweken Shootout coming up on  Friday, September 17 during Canadian Sprint Car Nationals weekend.
Jamie  Cox of Cambridge is just eighteen points ahead of Port Robinson driver Billy  Bleich with two races left to decide the ESSO Thunder Stock championship.   Bleich finished second last Friday night, while Cox was right behind him in  third. A trio of Caledonia drivers are third, fourth, and fifth in the standings  - Ryan Dinning, Lee Winger, and Mike Thorne.  Ed McNamara of Sherkston is  seventh overall and leads the Rookie of the Year chase.
Welland ‘s Trevor  Goulding continues to lead the ESSO Mini Stock standings and finished fourth  last Friday night.  Craig Erskine of Brantford finished third and sits  fifty-four points behind.  Ohsweken's Steve Hess is third, followed by  Brantford driver Kevin Hilborn, and Mike Evers of Caledonia.  Jake Brown of  Brantford leads the Rookie of the Year standings.
Dundas driver Karl  Sault's lead in the Bomber standings has shrunk to thirty-six over Hamilton's  John Cote.  Jeremy Hughes of Burlington is third, followed by Kacey Huffman  of Hamilton, and Caledonia's Jesse McDonald.
Paul Klager of Beamsville  has won both of the Mod-Lite Championship Tour North visits to Ohsweken this  season, but Stoney Creek driver Randy Hollingshead gave Klager a good challenge  last time out on August 1st.  Those two and many more will put on another  great show this Friday in their tour's final visit to the Speedway this  season.
